Comedy Nights Bachao: 5 times when the show made headlines

Comedy Nights Bachao, which is soon slated to go off-air to comeback with a season 2, has always courted controversies. Since the time of its launch Comedy Nights Bachao had rubbed many people in a wrong way. From offending its guests to the format of the show, everything about Comedy Nights Bachao had made headlines. Let's take a look at times when Comedy Nights Bachao made headlines.

Comedy Nights Bachao: 5 times when the show made headlines

1. Amy Jackson refuses to be part of the show: We are aware about the rapport that filmmaker Sohail Khan and host of CNB Krushna Abhishek share. The latter was a contestant on Comedy Circus while Sohail was one of the judges. Recently, all the main characters of Sohail's film Freaky Ali barring Amy Jackson went to promote their film on the show. Now, Sohail has revealed to a publication that Amy is not comfortable with the kind of comedy that Krushna subjects his guests too. Also, as her Hindi is not up to the mark and she was busy shooting for Robot 2.0, the filmmaker exempted her from the promotions. However, Amy managed to shoot with Krushna's rival Kapil Sharma for The Kapil Sharma Show.

2. Comedy Nights Bachao's constant competition with Kapil: Ever since, Comedy Nights Bachao has launched the show was constantly been pitted against Kapil Sharma's then hit show on the same channel Comedy Nights with Kapil. As per reports, the initial success of the show was one of the reasons that made Kapil shut down Comedy Nights with Kapil. What followed next was a series of allegations and remarks by Krushna and Kapil's rumoured girlfriend Preeti Simoes.

3. Govinda and Krushna's fight: Though everything has been sorted between the two now but when Govinda made an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, Krushna was taken aback by his maama's decision. The comedian was chasing Govinda for three months to appear on his show Comedy Nights Live, but Govinda preferred Kapil's show over Krushna's. In an interview with Bombay Times, Govinda expressed his displeasure over Krushna's insult humour. He said, "Krushna has been making money by insulting others on television. I was extremely upset with the 'Mama rakha hai' remark and summoned him home." Making no attempt to hide his ire, Govinda continued, "I have seen the way Krushna roasts the Khans — Salman and Shah Rukh. He is very respectful. He respects the 'good' time of a person and not the artiste. Maybe, I will go on his show when my time is good. I can't change my nature overnight to suit the format of a show. I understand that's his professional hazard, but I can't be a part of it."

4. Lisa Haydon controversy: The Housefull team visited the sets of 'Comedy Nights Bachao' and Akshay Kumar was reported to have lost his cool over a racist remark. Akshay apparently got angry with the team of 'CNB' for humiliating the leading actresses of the film, Jacqueline Fernandez and Lisa Haydon. As per a report, 'Comedy Nights Bachao' which is on the roast format had some unacceptable jokes on the leading ladies. Everything was going fine until comedian Siddharth Jadhav called Lisa Haydon, a Kangaroo given her Australian genes. He allegedly even called her a black African. This did not go down well with Akshay, who intervened and Siddharth had to stop. The report further stated that Akshay told the 'CNB' team that it was unfair to crack jokes on Lisa as her Hindi isn't great. Later, as per Akshay's instructions few changes were made to the script to avoid distasteful comments and the shoot resumed, concluded the report. Though later Akshay stated in an interview that it was all a part of a prank.

5. Celebs refusing to go on the show: Hrithik Roshan was asked to take his film Mohenjadaro to Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh starrer 'Comedy Nights Bachao', and not everyone enjoys the roast. One of the most important element in the promotions of the films are reality show, as the TRPs of these shows are really high and the filmmakers can reach a larger audience by appearing on them. But we think, Hrithik wasn't too comfortable with this route. It was also reported that Akshay Kumar did not promote 'Rustom' on the show for the same reason.
