MVV Satyanarayana

announced that he would also submit resignation in protest against the privatisation of the

Central government

first, Satyanarayana said.

Addressing the gathering at the public meeting organised by the trade unions at Kurmannapalem gate on Thursday, the MP said that he would take up

to protect the

steel plant

. “We are ready for resignations. We will fight first for justice. If we lose it, then I will submit resignation,’ he said.

Giving a strong reply to the PCC chief Sake Sailajanath, who made allegations against the proposed Padayatra for steel plant by the Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy of YSRCP, the Vizag MP asked why the Congress MPs had not raised their voice in Parliament. ‘Sailajanath would criticise YSRCP today and he would leave Vizag tomorrow. But we are going to stay here and fight for the plant,” he said.

Sailajanath in his speech criticized YSRCP that there would not be any result with the YSRCP’s Padayatras and YSRCP MPs should stall the Parliament. MVV alleged that Sailajanath is saying that they would protect the steel plant if Rahul Gandhi was made Prime Minister, but the Congress was the main culprit in division of the state.

Andhra Pradesh tourism minister M Srinivasa Rao said that resignations are not solution for the protection of steel plant. Sacrificing their lives would be the final attempt. He asked the trade unions to bring all Central government sector workers under one roof to create pressure. The MPs of all parties should fight for the Steel Plant at Delhi.

CPM state secretary P Madhu accused that the Central government had given 12 coal mines and even airports to Adanis. The Central government is even privatising the forests and it would also privatise oceans. He asked where the railway zone and special category status. Former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao urged the state government to lead the movement and take the all parties team to Delhi to meet the Prime Minister.

CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna said for the first time all political parties came under one umbrella after bifurcation of the state and leaders of all political parties would go to Delhi soon.

Janasena leader Siva Sankar urged all political parties to plan for a constructive movement for Vizag Steel and not focus on political benefits.

The public meeting was concluded in three hours in which a CD on steel plant agitation was released. Majority trade unions boycotted the formation day of the Vizag Steel Plant on Thursday. Foundation stone for the steel plant was laid in the year 1971.
