Vizag, Araku to get facelift for G-20 meet

The Special Chief Secretary of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department, Sri Lakshmi, said that foolproof arrangements will be made for the G20 nations working group meetings scheduled to be held on March 28 and 29 in Visakhapatnam. The meeting was attended by Visakhapatnam District Collector Dr. A. Mallikarjuna GVMc Commissioner P. Raja Babu, Vizag Police Commissioner Ch. Srikanth, and Alluri Sitharama Raju District Collector Sumit Kumar. tourist places in Araku and Borra will be renovated to foreign delegates that may visit these places during the meetings; various entertainment events will be conducted for the foreign delegates based on tribal culture and heritage in the region; and steps will be taken to ensure these programmes will not cause inconvenience to the public.

Visakhapatnam: Special chief secretary (municipal administration and urban development) Y Sri Lakshmi said that foolproof arrangements will be made for the G20 nations working group meetings scheduled to be held on March 28 and 29 in Visakhapatnam.
Speaking to reporters here at the VMRDA conference hall on Saturday, the special chief secretary said that they conducted a review meeting on the preparations for the G20 Summit meetings at the directions of CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“Delegates from about 40 countries will take part in the meetings. Visakhapatnam will be given a facelift for this,” said Sri Lakshmi. The meeting conducted by the special chief secretary was attended by Visakhapatnam district collector Dr A Mallikarjuna, GVMC Commissioner P Raja Babu, Vizag police commissioner Ch Srikanth and others.
Alluri Sitharama Raju district collector Sumit Kumar said that tourist places in Araku and Borra will be renovated to foreign delegates that may visit these places during the meetings. “Various entertainment events will be conducted for the foreign delegates based on tribal culture and heritage in the region,” said Sumit Kumar.
GVMC commissioner P Raja Babu said steps will be taken to ensure these programmes will not cause inconvenience to the public,” said Raja Babu.
