VISAKHAPATNAM: City cops solved the murder mystery of the former City Congress women's wing president Vijaya Reddy (55), and nabbed two accused in the case, Kola Venkata Hemanth Kumar and his associate Neeli Radhika, besides recovering the weapons used for the murder.
The police also recovered 10.75 lakh worth gold ornaments and a Vitara Brezza car. The former councillor of Gajuwaka municipality was killed on February 25 in her house at Akkayyapalem by unknown persons.
City police chief Mahesh Chandra Laddha told the media that the main accused, Hemanth Kumar of Golla Tallavalasa in Bheemili mandal, who introduced himself as a real estate broker to the deceased, was an experienced criminal. The accused first contacted Vijaya Reddy in August 2018 after learning that she was trying to sell her flat.
