TRAI conducts seminar on '5G use cases in healthcare sector' at SVIMS

TIRUPATI: The telecom regulatory authority of India (TRAI) conducted a seminar on "5G use cases healthcare sector" at Sri Venkateswara institute of medical sciences (SVIMS) in Tirupati on Monday.

TRAI chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti, who took part as the Chief guest, explained about the importance of 5G in education, healthcare sectors and the impact of digital innovation for sustainable development.

The TRAI chairman listed out the major accomplishments of the Indian telecom sector, which has reached a subscribers base of 1199.28 million, growth in the broadband subscribers base to 924 million.
He also explained the importance of 5G use cases in vitual reality, smart ambulance, robotic surgeries etc.

SVIMS director and vice chancellor Dr RV Kumar explained about the importance of telecom technology used in 3 core areas ie clinical medicine, medical education & research.

TTD JEO Gouthami and around 250 participants attended the seminar held at SVIMS on Monday.
