At a media conference, Venkata Rao said that the management had suspended as many as 36 workers on November 22 after the leaders and workers at NAD demanded payment for the overtime work done in the past.

He highlighted that those who did not go to the CGM office and those who were on leave were also suspended. Seven workers' suspensions were revoked after the issue was brought to the management's notice, he added.

NAD Civil Employees' Union President, AV Thomas, said that even after all the officers signed the OT records, the CGM refused to sign them.

The union's General Secretary, R Srinivas, and Secretary of the Working Committee, DV Srinivasa Rao, informed that, in opposition to the management’s attitude, a bike rally will be held on December 8, from NAD to the Gandhi statue at GVMC, which will be followed by a public meeting.
