TIRUPATI: Bhumana Karunakar Reddy will take charge as Tirumala
Tirupati Devasthanams trust board chairman at Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala on Thursday morning.
The Tirupati MLA said as the trust board chairman he would focus on taking almighty closer to devotees.
"I was TTD chairman in 2006. Then I had introduced new initiatives such as Srinivasa Kalyanam, Dalita Govindam, Kalyanamasthu, etc.
For the first time, the deities were taken to the doorsteps of devotees. Sri Venkateswara bhakti channel was my idea. It was launched in 2008. The aim was to stream live events at the Tirumala temple and all major annual festivals of Lord Venkateswara to the homes of devotees."
He said: "The board has emerged as a pioneer in temple administration. I thank Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for nominating me to the post. The Tirupati trust board is unparalleled when it comes to creating amenities for devotees. It is our responsibility to safeguard the trust by upholding Sanathana Dharma and glory of Lord Venkateswara, and passing it on to our future generations."
