9,510 government employees transferred in Andhra
Visakhapatnam: The state government has transferred 9,510 employees from various departments from their existing locations after reviewing requests submitted by 32,802 employees from all the 13 districts.
In the north coastal districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam, 2,168 employees have been transferred.
While the highest number of employees (1,075) were transferred from Krishna district, the lowest number of employees (521) were transferred from Vizianagaram district.
As many as 995 employees were transferred from Visakhapatnam district, said a senior revenue official from the district collectorate, adding that the government approved transfers of 565 employees from Kurnool and 1,000 employees from West Godavari district.
Meanwhile, some of the employees who have already received their transfer orders are waiting for relieving letters due to unavailability of vacancy at the places where they are supposed to join.
An employee from the department of fisheries, who got transferred to Krishna district, said, "I am waiting for the government's relieving order to go and join in Krishna district. I am expecting the order by Monday."
In another case, an employee from Kakinada said he was placed on duty in Vijayawada before the transfer order came.
"I started working in Vijayawada from the first week of May on deputation. My transfer order was issued recently. I have come to Kakinada to get by relieving letter," he said.
