VIJAYAWADA: A woman was sexually assaulted on board the Visakha Express by an unidentified man, in Palnadu district on April 26.
According to police, the survivor, from Rentachintala mandal, was travelling with her husband in the general coach to Nadikudi in Dachepalle mandal in Palnadu district when an unidentified man reportedly offered them seats in an AC coach.
The couple agreed and shifted to the AC coach.
But, when the husband briefly left his seat to use the restroom, the accused allegedly assaulted the woman, police said.
The woman, who lives and works in Visakhapatnam, told her husband about the incident only after they got off the train at Rentachintala railway station, after which the couple approached police and lodged a complaint.
