Welfare officer lands in ACB net
Vijayawada: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday conducted raids at Mangalagiri Health and Family Welfare Office and arrested a superintendent, establishment division, for accepting bribe. The complainant, P Narendra Babu of Arundhati Nagar in Guntur, his wife, and 7 other Grade-III ANMs had applied for inter-district transfers. Syed Laeeq Ahmed, superintendent, Establishment Division, Mangalagiri Health and Family Welfare Office, demanded ₹40,000 to process the applications. The complainant approached the ACB officials. The officials registered a case and arrested the accused while accepting a bribe of ₹16,000 from the complainant. TNN
