Vizag MP seeks Centre support for RK beach redevelopment
Visakhapatnam: Vizag MP M. Sribharat met Union minister for tourism and culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi and submitted a detailed representation seeking support for the comprehensive development of Ramakrishna beach (RK beach) in Visakhapatnam. During the meeting, the MP explained the infrastructure issues affecting one of the most prominent and popular public spaces. He brought to the Union minister's attention the increasing traffic congestion along Beach Road, inadequate pedestrian space, deteriorating retaining walls, and damaged stormwater drainage systems. He also highlighted the need for an integrated master plan, as the area has witnessed fragmented development of parks and facilities over time.

In his proposal, the MP requested the ministry's support for the development of a continuous seaside promenade and the construction of stepped seating and viewing decks along the shoreline. He also sought the creation of wider pedestrian walkways, dedicated cycling tracks, and the installation of modern public amenities and urban infrastructure. Furthermore, he requested a comprehensive stormwater management system, elevated pedestrian pathways for safer movement, and the development of multi-level parking facilities to ease traffic congestion.According to the MP, the Union minister responded positively and assured him that the proposal would be examined in detail.
