Vijayawada: As part of the slogan "Better Health, Happier Life, Higher Productivity", 2 state-of-the-art medical vans costing Rs 1.35 crore were launched by the Sujana Foundation and made available to the Vijayawada West constituency people as part of the Sujana Health On Wheels programme on Sunday. Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu launched the 2 state-of-the-art medical vans in the West constituency on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu congratulated Sujana Chowdary for designing his own programmes, raising funds independently, and undertaking initiatives that benefited the people, especially in protecting their health. He also stated that it was a matter of great satisfaction that a special system called "Sujana Mitra" was established to address people's problems promptly.
Sujana Chowdary explained that these mobile vans were made available as part of a special programme undertaken with the goal of providing comprehensive healthcare to the people of the West constituency. He said that the 1st van housed a senior doctor's chamber, an examination room, a blood lab, and a pharmacy for free medicines, while the 2nd van featured a diagnostic hub equipped with advanced equipment such as X-ray, ECG, and 2D Echo.
These 2 medical vans will conduct special medical camps by coordinating with the local Urban Primary Health Centers (UPHCs), bringing healthcare to people's doorsteps. If serious illnesses are detected, patients will be referred to Vijayawada govt General Hospital (GGH), Mangalagiri NRI Hospital, and other private hospitals for better treatment. The MLA also appointed a dedicated "Coordinator on Duty" to assist the patients at these hospitals.
