Tirupati: Two students died by suicide in separate incidents reported in Anantapur and Kadapa districts.
A 22-year-old woman identified as Swathi, pursuing a lab technician course in Anantapur, ended her life by hanging herself from the ceiling in her hostel room in Sai Nagar locality on Thursday. Following an alert received from the hostel management, local police rushed to the hostel and shifted the deceased's body for postmortem to the govt general hospital in Anantapur. Police registered a case and are trying to investigate the reason that drove the young woman to the verge of committing suicide.
Meanwhile, an 18-year-old boy who failed in intermediate second-year exams committed suicide at a local water body near Mydukur in Kadapa district. The deceased was identified as G Hari Eswar, a resident of Indiramma Colony in Mydukur.
After the intermediate results were declared on Wednesday and he realised that he had failed, Hari left home and never returned. While his parents and relatives searched for him everywhere, they couldn't trace him. Unfortunately, his body was found in a local water body on the outskirts of Mydukur on Thursday. Police registered a case and shifted his body for postmortem.
