Vijayawada: In a decisive move to curb rising lawlessness, Palnadu district authorities have, for the first time, ordered the externment of three habitual offenders accused of disturbing public peace. District Collector Kritika Shukla issued orders banning the trio from entering the district for six months.
The individuals, all residents of Kothapullareddy Gudem village in Veldurthi mandal, have a long criminal history and are identified as rowdy sheeters. The accused have been named as Panga Iddayya, (28), Panga Anjaiah alias Anji, (54), and Ganneboyina Lakshmaiah, (51). Police records indicate that Iddayya is listed at Macherla Police Station, while Anjaiah and Lakshmaiah are registered rowdy sheeters at Veldurthi Police Station.
According to the Palnadu District Police, the trio hadwere been repeatedly involved in activities threatening law and order. In a recent development, they were arrested for possessing illegal weapons and remanded to judicial custody.
Officials stated that the externment order aims to restore a sense of security among residents. Authorities have also issued a stern warning that strict action will be taken against any habitual offenders or rowdy sheeters engaging in unlawful activities within the district, signalingsignalling a zero-tolerance approach towards crime.
