Three fuel stations sealed for rule violations in Palnadu

Vijayawada: In a strong crackdown on fuel supply irregularities, authorities in Palnadu district have sealed three petrol pumps for diverting stocks and indulging in bulk sales in violation of government norms amid the ongoing fuel shortage. District collector Kritika Shukla ordered action against Srinidhi Filling Station in Narasaraopet, Tirumala Filling Station in Piduguralla, and Janatha Filling Station in Chilakaluripet after inspections exposed rule violations.Officials found that these outlets were not adhering to rationing guidelines and were allegedly prioritising bulk sales instead of supplying fuel fairly to the public. The collector expressed serious concern over such practices, stating that strict monitoring will continue to prevent misuse during the crisis.Following the action, civil supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar issued a stern warning to fuel station operators across Andhra Pradesh. During a review meeting, he directed officials to take stringent action against those diverting petrol and diesel or falsely claiming lack of stock.The minister stressed that rationing must be strictly implemented and ensured that essential sectors like aqua and paddy farming do not face shortages. He also noted a rise in complaints through the toll-free number 1967, particularly about denial of fuel, and ordered immediate verification and action. He cautioned against misinformation on social media, stating that violators would face serious consequences.
