TDP will face bigger defeat in 2024 elections: Sajjala
VIJAYAWADA: YSRCP general secretary and state govt advisor Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy has predicted that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will face a bigger humiliating defeat in the upcoming 2024 elections compared to the party’s performance in 2019.
He said that Naidu’s frustration in public meetings clearly indicates TDP’s downfall as he could not simply digest the people taking YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s side.
Speaking to the media at the party office on Saturday, Sajjala suggested TDP supremo Naidu to address substantial issues affecting the people, rather than engaging in dance performances to entertain the public in rallies. He criticized Naidu for spreading panic among senior citizens by claiming lack of govt funds for pension distribution resulting in the death of 31 people. He said that the govt despite Naidu’s attempts to create hurdles to the disbursement of pension had successfully completed 93 percent distribution, within just two days. “People have realised that Naidu is the one who stopped volunteers from giving pensions at doorstep and vented their ire against TDP leaders. To cover-up his mis-adventurous decision, Naidu wrote a letter to the election commission blaming govt for not giving pensions at doorstep. He doesn't have clarity on what he was doing,” Sajjala said.
He said that Janasena’s impact has become very marginal as Pawan Kalyan had failed to field his party activists as candidates. He said that Pawan had instead picked almost all the candidates imported from TDP at the behest of Chandrababu Naidu. Janasena cadres have realised that Pawan had been working only for Naidu but not to strengthen the party, said Sajjala.
He criticised APCC Sharmila for working with a personal agenda rather than peoples’ agenda. He said that Sharmila had also taken the burden of shouldering Naidu’s agenda along with her personal agenda. He wanted to know as to how Sharmila could speak on the issues pending in the court and brand someone as a killer. He asked as to why Sharmila had suddenly disappeared from Telangana and started reading out scripts sent by Naidu. He also questioned the timing of her references to YS Vivekanda Reddy’s murder during elections, given her silence on the matter for the past four years.
