VIJAYAWADA: YSR Congress Party President and former chief minister
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that the sustained propaganda by the TDP–JSP combine alleging the destruction of “Brand Andhra Pradesh” during the YSRCP regime has been completely demolished by hard facts placed before the nation by the
Reserve Bank of India.
Recalling the repeated claims made by TDP and Jana Sena leaders before and after the 2019 elections, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said they had relentlessly spread the narrative that Andhra Pradesh lost its credibility, investors fled the state, and industries collapsed under YSRCP rule. “They shouted from rooftops that Andhra Pradesh was ruined. But facts do not bend to political lies,” he asserted.
Citing the latest RBI data on Gross Value Added (GVA) for the period 2019–24, Jagan said Andhra Pradesh emerged as the top-performing state in South India and fifth in the country in manufacturing sector growth. In overall industrial sector growth, the state stood first in South India and eighth nationally. “If Brand AP was truly destroyed, how did Andhra Pradesh achieve such rankings?” Jagan asked.
“These are not YSRCP figures, not Jagan’s numbers, and not political statistics. These are official RBI numbers,” he said, adding, “RBI data has crushed the fake narrative built by TDP and JSP brick by brick.”
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the data clearly establishes that AP witnessed robust and sustained industrial growth during the YSRCP govt, driven by policy stability, transparent governance, and a commitment to inclusive and region-balanced development.
“Industries do not grow on slogans; they grow on confidence, consistency, and credibility—qualities our government delivered,” he said.
Jagan asked, “Is being number one in South India and among the top states in the country what they call the destruction of Brand AP? Or is it proof of a strong, resilient economy?” He said the truth is now unmistakable, and the people of Andhra Pradesh can clearly distinguish between political propaganda and documented facts. “You can lie for a while, but you cannot lie against data forever,” he said.
Reaffirming faith in the YSRCP govt’s legacy, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that its economic and industrial performance will stand the test of time, regardless of attempts to mislead people for short-term political gains.
