Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh legislative council descended into chaos on Thursday as a fierce debate over the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Scheme spiralled into heated exchanges, protests, and even an attempted scuffle between members.The confrontation began when YSRCP MLC Ramasubba Reddy criticised the suspension of works on the scheme, accusing the government of neglecting the drought-prone Rayalaseema region. His remarks drew sharp reactions from the treasury benches, with minister Atchannaidu questioning the opposition's intent and alleging politicisation of a sensitive issue.
