Purandheswari may join Union cabinet

Vijayawada: BJP AP unit president and Rajamahendravaram MP Daggubati Purandheswari is likely to be the BJP candidate for the Union cabinet. She was a minister in the UPA govt during Dr Manmohan Singh’s tenure from 2004 to 2014. Later, she joined BJP and she was made the AP unit president in 2023.BJP won three MPs from the state – Purandheswari from Rajamahendravaram, CM Ramesh from Anakapalli, and Srinivasa Varma from Narsapuram.Kothapalli Geetha from Araku, Velagapalli Varaprasada Rao from Tirupati and Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy from Rajampet lost the battle.Among the three BJP MPs from Andhra Pradesh, Purandheswari has better chances of becoming the Union minister. Her previous experience as Union minister gives her an edge over the other two members.
