TIRUPATI: Kadapa police slapped cases against 31 Telugu Desam Party functionaries, including former MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy, his son JC Asmit Reddy and former MP JC Divakar Reddy's son JC Pavan Reddy on Friday, for violating Covid-19 guidelines at the time of the release of JC Prabhakar Reddy from the Kadapa central prison on Thursday.
It may be recalled that JC Prabhakar Reddy and his son JC Asmit Reddy who were arrested and lodged at the Kadapa central prison in connection with BS III vehicle scam.
Following court's order, the father son duo were released from the Kadapa central prison on Thursday. A large number of followers of the JC family had gathered and resorted to sloganeering at the Kadapa central prison at the time of the release of JC Prabhakar Reddy and his son from the jail on Thursday.
Acting tough on the opposition party functionary who just got released from the prison on charges of violating Covid-19 guidelines which prohibits large sized gatherings or mob-gathering, Kadapa police slapped cases JC Prabhakar Reddy, his on JC Asmit Reddy, JC Pavan Reddy and 28 other followers of the JC family on Friday.
The ordeal didn't just end with fresh cases being slapped against them as both JC Prabhakar Reddy and his son JC Asmit Reddy were asked to wait for questioning when they went to sign at the local police station at Tadipatri on Friday.
JC family continues to allege that the YS Jaganmohan Reddy government would continue to target them financially as well as politically by using police and other resources. They have also reiterated that despite political witch-hunting tactics being exerted on them by the ruling government, they will not budge to the pressure and will continue to fight against the government through legal means.
