Tirupati: State endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy stated that the stage is all set for the grand conduct of the annual Brahmotsavams of Penchalakona Sri Penusila Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Nellore district from April 27-May 3. The minister held a co-ordination committee meeting along with Venkatagiri MLA Kurugondla Ramakrishna to review the arrangements and instructed departments to be fully prepared well in advance.
Anam said the govt has been taking steps to declare the Penchalakona Brahmotsavams as a state festival in the near future. The minister said that chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has sanctioned ₹832 crore for the development of temples across the state. Additionally, over 5,000 bhajan mandirs are being planned with Rs 750 crore through the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Srivani Trust.
He also explained that Rs 6.5 crore has been sanctioned for the reconstruction of the Adi Lakshmi Ammavari Temple at Penchalakona, with works to commence after the Brahmotsavams. A decision on the reconstruction of the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple will be taken after consultations with engineers and Agama scholars. Officials from the state endowments dept and the Nellore district administration and police depts took part.
