New CBSE pattern fails to stop city students scoring high

Comparing with the national top scorers, city students have also bagged decent marks in the exam. K Jothika from NSM Public School, who scored 488 out of 500, came out as the top scorer of the Class X exam in the city.
Vemulapalli Manasa, a student of Saint John’s English Medium School has become the second highest scorer in the city as she scored 487. “Initially, there was a pressure on me to prepare for the syllabus. But I gained confidence gradually as I started revising the syllabus after finishing it on time,” said Manasa who is aspiring to pursue BiPC and taken admission in Sri Chaitanya Junior College.
Manasa who has scored 100 in science also aims to crack the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam. However, four students of Saint John’s English Medium School, including her, scored above 480, while 11 other students obtained between 470 and 479 marks.
The marks of 27 students in the school ranged between 440 and 469, while 53 other students scored between 400 and 439. Other leading city schools also produced similar results.
Three students at Sri Chaitanya International Olympiad School got 484, while other three students scored 482. The highest scores at Nalanda Vidya Niketan and KCP Siddhartha Adarsh Residential School are 479 and 472 respectively.
There are 10 prominent CBSE schools in the city and most of them, including Sri Chaitanya International Olympiad School, Nalanda Vidya Niketan and KCP Siddhartha Adarsh Residential School, had 100 per cent pas rates in the Class X CBSE exam.
