Naidu promotes one family one entrepreneur vision at Davos Summit
Vijayawada: Promoting his One Family – One Entrepreneur (OF-OE) vision at the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit being held at Davos, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said that development should be inclusive and not confined to a few sections. He asserted that every family must become a stakeholder in the state's growth story, which, according to him, is only possible with entrepreneurship.Speaking at a panel discussion on OF-OE, Naidu said the initiative was conceived to ensure govt decisions translated into tangible benefits for people while creating a new generation of entrepreneurs. He stressed the need to align with global technological shifts and said India is steadily moving towards a manufacturing-led growth model, adding that the OF-OE policy was introduced in that context. The chief minister said the govt's role went beyond policy formulation and included providing guidance and building enabling infrastructure. He said start-ups were being supported through the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub (RTIH), where aspiring entrepreneurs were being guided under the OF-OE framework. He said the state is creating the necessary industrial infrastructure and introduced a support mechanism called P4 to assist individuals with innovative ideas while addressing poverty alleviation through entrepreneurship.
Naidu said micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are being actively encouraged to strengthen local industrial ecosystems. Referring to the announcement made on Women's Day last year to support 1 lakh women entrepreneurs, he said the initiative made steady progress and that women would continue to be encouraged to take up entrepreneurship in a phased manner.Naidu also highlighted the need for branding, as production alone will not give desired results in the absence of proper branding for the products. He said branding and value addition are equally critical to ensure that the benefits of development reach people. He said the govt is focusing on branding the products manufactured in Andhra Pradesh, including those produced by DWCRA women groups. The chief minister said skill development was a priority and that he requested IBM to train 10 lakh people in artificial intelligence and quantum technologies to create a future-ready workforce for the state's industries.Reiterating the state's investor-friendly approach, Naidu said industries setting up operations in Andhra Pradesh would be treated with respect and assured that approvals would be granted under the speed of doing business framework, backed by time-bound clearances and execution certainty.Participants at the forum observed that Andhra Pradesh took a structured approach towards industrialisation through the policy, noting that it was designed not only to promote entrepreneurship but also to ensure balanced development by extending opportunities to rural areas.
