VIJAYAWADA: Fifteen years after marriage, a man killed his wife suspecting her fidelity at Sattenappalle in Palnadu district on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Pasupuleti Vijaya Lakshmi (40). She was beaten to death with an iron rod by her husband
Nagaraju.
According to Sattenapalle inspector U Shobhan Babu, the incident happened around 9 in the morning.
Nagaraju, a daily wage worker, married
Vijaya Lakshmi fifteen years ago. They had a daughter and son. While the son died at the age of five, daughter is now studying in eighth standard.
Earlier, they lived separately for three years. After the persuasion from both the families, they reunited two years ago. However, from last three months, Nagaraju again started suspecting her fidelity and their relation strained once again. On Sunday morning, they entered into an argument over a petty issue. Nagaraju picked up an iron rod and attacked Vijaya Lakshmi. He smashed her head with the rod killing her on the spot.
Vijaya Lakshmi’s sister Nageswaramma lodged a complaint alleging that Nagaraju and his father Pullaiah were harassing her since last three months. She alleged both killed her sister.
