Man killed by friend in tiff over money

Vijayawada: A drunken tiff over money between two friends led to one of them murdering the other at Garikapadu village in Krosuru mandal of Guntur district on Sunday night. The accused has been identified as Pidugu Gopikrishna, a small-time businessman.
According to Krosuru police, Gopikrishna invited his friend Krishna Prasad, a money lender, for a drink.While they were drinking at an agricultural field, a heated argument ensued between the two over Rs 5 lakh which Krishna Prasad had lent to Gopikrishna around two years ago. Krishna Prasad demanded his money back, which enraged Gopikrishna, with the resulting fight ending in the murder of his money lender friend.
After being alerted by locals, police reached the spot and found several injury marks on Krishna Prasad’s body. A case under section 302 of IPC (murder) has been registered by Krosuru police.
