Guntur: Bringing cheers into the family of poor muslim family Shaik Ameer of Polakampadu in Mangalagiri, HRD and IT minister Nara Lokesh made a surprise visit to Ameer's home and joined his family in breaking the fast on Wednesday. Lokesh took part in special prayers and extended Ramzan greetings to the family. Ameer works as a loan recovery agent in a private company in Vijayawada. Lokesh was warmly received by the family and interacted with them at length, enquiring about their well-being. Ameer's father, Sheikh Anwar, a lorry driver, shared details about the family, including his two sons and a daughter, and highlighted their financial struggles. He explained that the family currently lives in a cramped, dilapidated house that leaks during rains and requested assistance for constructing a new home.
Responding positively, Lokesh assured the family of full support and promised to help them build a new house. The family expressed happiness over the minister's visit during Ramadan. Lokesh also presented a festive gift to the family. Lokesh participated in Iftar with Ameer's family members.
Speaking on the occasion, Lokesh said he has made it a practice to visit a muslim household every year during Ramadan. He also announced that another 2,000 pattas would be distributed soon. He recalled that he also distributed about 3,000 house sites in the constituency in the first phase. He added that underground drainage infrastructure would also be developed in the constituency. "God has given us an opportunity to serve the poor. Our leader Chandrababu Naidu was blessed to serve the state as chief minister for the fourth time. We are happy to serve people under the dynamic leadership of Naidu and live every minute for the development of the state and welfare of the people," said Lokesh. He said that he would be indebted to the people of Mangalagiri as they handed him one of the highest majorities in the state.
