Jagan backing BJP on delimitation, alleges Sharmila
Vijayawada: Accusing YSRCP chief and former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of maintaining a covert political understanding with the BJP, APCC chief YS Sharmila has alleged that the YSRCP's stance on key national issues, particularly the delimitation exercise, has exposed its alignment with the BJP-led NDA. She claimed that Jagan, while projecting himself as part of the opposition, has effectively supported the ruling dispensation at the Centre. In a post shared on her X, Sharmila questioned the rationale behind backing what she termed "unconstitutional" delimitation proposals, stating that true opposition parties across the country had united to resist such measures. "Instead of standing with the opposition, Jagan has sided with the ruling party. This is politically and morally questionable," she said.

Sharmila further alleged that Jagan was compromising on core democratic principles to secure protection from legal challenges linked to alleged corruption during his tenure. She accused him of "blindly endorsing" BJP policies and prioritising political survival over constitutional values.Taking a swipe, she grouped the Telugu Desam Party, Jana Sena and YSRCP, alleging that all three were indirectly aligned with PM Narendra Modi and seeking his favour.
On the issue of women's reservation, Sharmila clarified that the Congress party fully supports 33% reservation for women and noted that the legislation was already passed in 2023. However, she criticised the linking of the Women's Bill with delimitation, calling it "illogical and detrimental."
