Visakhapatnam: Chief justice of the AP high court Justice Dheeraj Singh Thakur on Thursday laid the foundation stone for the construction of guest houses for high court judges on a five-acre site at Endada in Visakhapatnam.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held amid Vedic chants and traditional rituals, in the presence of high court judges Justice Ravinath Tilhari and Justice Ravi Cheemalapati. Following the rituals, the judges unveiled a plaque and symbolically initiated the construction by laying cement and holding a spade.
After the ceremony, the judges viewed the seashore from the site and inspected the surroundings from a nearby hilltop. They later enquired about preliminary aspects of the construction and other related matters with court and district officials.
District court chief judge Chinnamshetty Raju, District Legal Services Authority secretary Sanyasinaidu, first additional district judge Venkataramana, district collector M Abhishikt Kishore, police commissioner Shankha Brata Bagchi, GVMC commissioner Ketan Garg, VMRDA commissioner Tej Bharat, Bheemili RDO Sangeet Madhur, along with other judges, court officials and senior district officials from various departments, were present.
