Coromandel to establish Rs 2,000 crore fertiliser manufacturing project in AP

Visakhapatnam: Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu held a series of meetings with representatives of various organisations in Visakhapatnam, highlighting investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh and inviting industrialists to collaborate. He suggested that proposals be formalised through MoUs with the Economic Development Board (EDB).During these interactions, Naidu met officials from Coromandel International Limited, a leading fertiliser and agri-input company under the Murugappa Group. Discussions centred on expanding fertiliser manufacturing, green ammonia, and agritech projects. Coromandel, which already operates units in Visakhapatnam and Kakinada, announced plans to establish another fertiliser manufacturing centre with an additional Rs 2,000 crore investment.An agreement was signed with the state government in Naidu's presence. Coromandel's investment will cover green ammonia, green hydrogen production, and expansion of fertiliser capacity.Naidu also met NK Agarwal, chairman of Balaji Action Buildwell, to discuss setting up a wood-based engineered panel manufacturing unit. Agarwal additionally donated Rs 1 crore to support the maintenance of government-run Anna Canteens.
