Visakhapatnam: The Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) district police seized 100 kgs of dry cannabis and arrested four persons in two separate incidents.
In the first case, the Sileru police in GK Veedhi mandal seized around 75 kgs of ganja and arrested three persons when the trio transported the weed in a car on the Sileru-Chitrakonda road. The arrested were identified as S Gopi, M Venkateswara Rao and K Anil. All of them belonged to the Palnadu district.

Based on specific information, the police conducted a vehicle check, intercepted the car, and seized the weed. The investigation revealed that the trio procured the weed from the Malkangiri district of Odisha. A case has been registered, and the investigation is underway to nab a few others in connection with it.
In another incident, the GK Veedhi police arrested K Ramateja and seized around 25 kgs of ganja when the accused transported the weed on a bike near GK Veedhi. The accused is a native of Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district, and he procured the weed in Odisha with the intent to transport it to his district. The investigation also revealed that Ramateja hired the bike for the illegal ganja trade.
