AP: Irrigation official dies after being attacked by a swarm of honey bees in Kurnool district

TIRUPATI: An irrigation department official died after being attacked by a swarm of

honey bees

in

Kurnool district

on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as deputy executive engineer Bhanu Prakash.

According to

Pamulapadu police

, a group of irrigation department officials went to inspect the Banakacherla regulator were suddenly attacked by a swarm of honey bees. Though everyone tried to escape, 45 year old deputy executive engineer Bhanu Prakash fell down after being attacked by the killer bees.

Though locals and the police shifted the irrigation department officials to the Nandyal government hospital, doctors declared Bhanu Prakash as brought dead.

expressed shock over the incident and condoled the family members of the deceased engineer.

Pamulapadu police have registered a case and are further investigating.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that honey bees have attacked inspection officials at the Banakacherla regulator.
