Andhra Pradesh: Inter student puts currency notes in answer sheets, urges officials to pass him
Visakhapatnam: An intermediate student from Vizag city gave a whole new meaning to overconfidence by making phone calls to some members of the Board of Intermediate Education an hour before the announcement of intermediate results on Wednesday, requesting them to pass him as he did not prepare well for the examinations. He told them that the questions he had prepared did not appear in the test. Left with no options, he said he wrote only the questions in the answer sheets, adding that he also placed some currency notes inside the answer sheets as an offer for the examiners to listen to his plea. Suspecting that the student may take an extreme step after the announcement of results, the officials alerted the regional inspection officer (RIO) of the Board of Intermediate Education in Visakhapatnam to take immediate steps to counsel the student. The officials said the student sat for the exams in first year and second year mathematics, and physics and chemistry papers of second year, and scored single digit marks in all the subjects. Minutes after the announcement of results, officials traced the location of student's residence and collected his parents' mobile number. "We provided counselling to the student and asked his mother to address his concerns. We also gave some tips and suggestions and requested him to prepare well for the upcoming supplementary intermediate examinations," said P Muralidhar, RIO of Visakhapatnam.A total of 40,873 (first year) and 41,972 second-year students took the intermediate examinations from Visakhapatnam region.
