AIIMS Mangalagiri security officer booked for stalking, harassment

Vijayawada: The Mangalagiri rural police booked the AIIMS Mangalagiri security field officer on charges of stalking and sexual harassment. The victim, identified as Jonna Lakshmi Tirupatamma, 35, who has been working as a security guard on an outsourcing basis, attempted suicide by consuming a mosquito repellent in the security officer room in AIIMS Mangalagiri on March 18, the police said.Based on the statement given by the victim, the police booked a case under Sections 78(1)(i), 79 and 75(1) of the BNS Act against Nutakki Venkata Mohanachary (65), a resident of Prasadampadu in Vijayawada.In her complaint, the complainant alleged that the accused had been harassing her at the workplace, besides sending vulgar messages and making video calls on her WhatsApp late at night. A probe is underway.
