In a major crackdown, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force of Punjab, in a joint operation with the Border Security Force, busted a cross-border drug smuggling module and arrested three key masterminds. Authorities recovered 24.5 kg of heroin along with ₹21 lakh in drug money during the operation. Preliminary investigations have revealed links to handlers based in Pakistan, indicating an international network behind the smuggling racket. Officials said further probe is underway to trace the supply chain and identify other operatives involved, as efforts continue to dismantle drug networks operating along the border.
