31-yr-old nabbed six days after murder of woman

Visakhapatnam: Six days after the body of a 53-year-old woman named Pujari Kalavathi was found in a house in Srikakulam town, the accused was arrested, police said on Saturday. The arrested is Andaluri Sarath Kumar (31), who owns a generator repair shop and is a local resident . Kalavathi, from Modalavalasa in Ponduru mandal, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Sarath's house on Jan 19. The cops said that Sarath had murdered Kalavati and stolen her gold jewellery with plans to sell them and settle his pending debts. with the money. They recovered gold ornaments worth over 1.65 lakh from him. Srikakulam district police chief KV Maheswar Reddy said that Kalavathi had once met Sarath at a satsang in Srikakulam town. The duo started meeting frequently at the latter's house. A debt-ridden Sarath planned to kill Kalavathi and steal her gold ornaments. On Jan 18, when Kalavathi visited Sarath's home, he strangled her with a wire and then choked her with a pillow. Then, he stole her jewellery.TNN
