3 arrested for stealing pumps in Vijayawada

VIJAYAWADA: Three persons from Kothapudi village who attempted to steal electric motors from a farm field in Gopuvanipalem village under Bandaru taluk police station were arrested on Monday. According to the police, Malishetty Srinivas is a farmer in Gopuvanipalem village. Three persons - Ottiprolu Jayanthi Babu, Ottiprolu Jyoti Babu and Pallikonda Joji Babu of Kothapudi village - tried to steal the electric motor pump sets that were set up in his field.While fleeing the spot, Jayanthi Babu was caught and later police was informed. On information, SI Vasu and team reached the spot and took Jayanti Babu into custody. Later, the police arrested Jyoti Babu and Joji Babu who were absconding. A case has been registered and further probe is on.
