Workshop on child safety for specially-abled kids
Gorakhpur: As part of the ‘Chuppi Todo, Halla Bol' initiative, a two-day workshop was organized on Friday in Gorakhpur, to spread awareness about child sexual abuse prevention and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 among visually impaired and specially-abled children, their teachers, staff, and guardians.
The event was held at Rajkiya Mukaddar Vidyalaya Narmal Campus and Rashtriya Drishtihin Balika Inter College Narmal Campus, with sessions designed to educate participants on safeguarding children from abuse.
Addressing the gathering, Sheelam Bajpai, director of Samadhan Abhiyan, highlighted the heightened vulnerability of specially-abled children to abuse and emphasized the need for awareness and preventive measures. Soumya Dwivedi, another key speaker, conducted a specially designed session on child safety and the POCSO Act. TNN
