Woman, two kids succumb to burns in Varanasi

VARANASI: A 28-year-old woman set herself afire along with two kids in Rampur area in Jaunpur district on late Thursday night. All three succumbed to burns. A case of dowry killing was registered with police. Four persons including women’s husband were arrested in this connection on Friday.
According to reports, Pinki Singh, wife of Vikash Singh, torched herself with daughter Jahanvi (4) and son Deep (3) around midnight.They received fatal burns. Local residents rushed them to hospital, but they died.
Pinki’s father Amarnath Singh lodhed an FIR alleging that his daughter was killed for dowry. The police arrested husband, mother-in-law, and two borthers-in-law.
