Wanted criminal, 2 aides held after encounter in Bhadohi

Varanasi: A criminal, carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head, was injured in a shootout with Koirauna police and arrested along with 2 accomplices in Bhadohi district late Tuesday.Police recovered a country-made pistol, cartridges, tools, a knife, and a motorcycle. Sandeep, with a Rs 5,000 bounty, was rushed to a hospital. He was wanted in over 12 cases across Bhadohi, Prayagraj, and other districts.
Bhadohi SP Abhimanyu Mangalik stated that Koirauna police were on night patrol when they received a tip about midnight regarding suspects involved in recent crimes. Acting on the info, cops surrounded the Paigha area and tried to stop three people on a motorcycle, who then attempted to flee.The suspects fired at the police as they were being chased, said SP. In return fire, Sandeep Yadav of Prayagraj was hit in the leg and caught. Two others, Jai Prakash Yadav and a juvenile, were also arrested.
