Varanasi: A teenage love story took a devastating turn in Bhadohi on Monday evening when the boy allegedly ended his life late Monday.The couple's whirlwind romance began on Instagram 10 months ago. But their love story took a deadly turn on Monday evening after a heated video call. In a shocking twist, the boy reportedly took his life in a fit of rage. It was only when she saw his legs shaking that she alerted his parents. However, it was too late, and the boy died by the time his parents rushed to the room.
Bhadohi's Gopiganj police station in-charge Shailesh Rai on Tuesday said that the body was handed over to his family after the post-mortem. The investigation is now digging deep to unravel the mysteries surrounding the incident, he added.Initial probe revealed the boy lived with his uncle and aunt, while his parents and sister resided in Mumbai. His parents supported him financially, sending money each month. He used a part of it to rent a room in the Jungiganj area, where he kept his girlfriend, posing as brother and sister to the landlord. The boy, who studied in high school, met the girl from Varanasi on Instagram. The boy used to visit her in Jungiganj daily on the pretext of going to school. The girl informed the boy's family that on Monday night, she spoke with him on Instagram when he became upset and committed suicide.
