VARANASI: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) organised a workshop on financial literacy and financial education in Harahua on Wednesday.
Addressing the programme, regional director, RBI, Lucknow, DPS Rathore said it was essential for people to know the functioning of bank and banking rules. Speaking about the habit of saving, he said it was in the interest of both the society and the nation.
"The account holders, if not satisfied with the functioning of the bank, can submit written complaints and the banks should take the complaints as suggestion to improve the work culture," he said.
Speaking on the occasion, deputy general manager of Union Bank of India, Varanasi, SN Tripathi said besides banking business, the bank is also fulfilling its social responsibility in rural areas. He said UBI was working towards making model districts in Eastern UP. The function was also attended by AGM (RBI) KK Pandey, DRDA project director Indradev Dwivedi and others.
