has received a fund of Rs
6.75 crore
from the establishment fund of Varanasi
Municipal Corporation (VMC
) for the construction of roads in different areas of the city identified by the VMC
. According to municipal commissioner RP Singh, as many as 9 roads are to be constructed by PWD. The construction work will start after the monsoon season is over.
These roads include roads leading from Sajan cinema to Teliyabagh, from JP Mehta to Central Jail no 1, from Sonarpura to Bhelupura, from Raveendrapuri to Lanka and from Rathyatra to Dashashwamedh.
A fund of Rs 15 crore has been allocated by the government to the VMC for better and planned development of the city. The work that is to be done on the priority basis by the VMC is improvement of the condition of lanes near ghats of the Ganga and Kashi Vishwanath temple.
Interlocking will be done on these lanes that at present are in bad shape and a cause of major trouble for visitors in the area.
