VARANASI: The additional district judge-VII court on Thursday acquitted jailed mafia don turned MLC Brijesh Singh in 1986 Sikrara massacre where seven persons were brutally murdered.
The acting district government council (criminal) Munna Lal Yadav said, ADJ-VII Rajiv Kamal Pandey gave decision in Sikrara case. Brijesh, who was booked under section 302, 307, 148, 149 of IPC and 25 Arms Act, was aquitted by the court.

Other 12 accused of this case had already been acquitted in 2002. A total of 13 witnesses including windows like Hirawati appeared before the court.
On April 9, 1986 seven people of Ramchandra Yadav's family were murdered while two women suffered injuries in Sikara under Balua police station, now in Chandauli district.
The trial of Brijesh, the main accused in this case, could be started after his arrest by the Delhi police from Odisha in 2008.
