Lucky escape for UP minister Suresh Rahi as his SUV collides with tractor-trolley in Gorakhpur

GORAKHPUR: It was a lucky escape for Uttar Pradesh jail minister Suresh Rahi when his official vehicle collided with a tractor-trolley in Gorakhpur on Sunday. The minister was unharmed, however, his vehicle suffered damage.The accident took place at Sahajanwan police station intersection while the minster was en route to Deoria from Lucknow.Sahajanwan SHO Nitin Raghunath Srivastava reached the spot and took the minister to a hotel in his car. Later, the minister left for Deoria.Police seized the tractor and detained the driver.“Minister Rahi was going to attend a programme in Deoria district,” the police said.“Around 3pm, while the convoy of the minister was under the foot overbridge near Sahajanwan intersection, a tractor-trolley laden with bricks collided with the minister’s vehicle and an escort,” the SHO added.
