VARANASI: While the Election Commission of India (ECI) and district election office are already carrying out campaigns to encourage voters to cash their vote in the elections, the Kashi Vishwanath Dham has also joined the drive.

As part of the initiative, message boards are placed at many points of Dham while its official websites are running strips to motivate people to utilise their democratic rights.

Kashi Vishwanath temple Trust chief executive officer Vishwa Bhushan Mishra said the trust and temple authorities decided to initiate a meaningful campaign to encourage voters' participation in the poll process by considering it as a 'national yajna' of democracy taking place in the form of Lok Sabha elections 2024.

To motivate devotees, who are thronging the shrine from across the country, posters have been put up at different places inside the KV Dham.Besides, they are also being appealed to vote through special messages on tokens and tickets.

The CEO said the temple trust is voluntarily participating in this campaign by considering it as a responsibility for public welfare.
