Kautilya celebrtaes his janma-tithi in holy Varanasi

VARANASI: His guru’s penchant for Hindu way of life and age old tradition made Kautilya, the child prodigy popularly known as ‘

’, to celebrate his 9th Janma Tithi (date of birth) as per the Hindu panchang (calendar) in the holy city Kashi on Tuesday. However, the genius kid from Karnal (Haryana) is equally interested in modern science and research, and wants to become a space scientist.

“From now I will celebrate my

janma-tithi

as per the Indian calendar on Margashirsha Purnima that was on December 13 this year. As per English calendar my date of birth is December 24. I had requested my guruji that I wish to celebrate the day with him. He was glad and blessed me, but said that the birth date should be celebrated as per the Indian calendar,” said Kautilya, a class V student, adding that he has promised his guru to celebrate the day as per his wish in future also.

, the chief disciple of Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanad Saraswati, said after knowing his wish Kautilya decided to celebrate his janma-tithi here at Sri Vidya Math, Kedar Ghat. He along with his father left for Varanasi on Sunday, but due to late arrival train they could reach the city on Tuesday afternoon. It was planned to perform rituals like Ganga-snan and Tula daan at the mutt to celebrtae the occasion but due to late arrival the function was held at Sri Annapurna Rishikul Brahmacharya Asharm, Shivpur in the evening.

“Kautilya wishes to become a space scientist as he has great interest in learning about stars and galaxy,” said his father Satish Sharma, who runs a private school and is a motivational speaker.

Kautilya started showing his extraordinary talent in early childhood when he started speaking words and sentences, said Satish adding that he had a lots of questions about things around him. Seeing his extraordinary power of learning and recalling, his parents consulted psychologist at

Kurukshetra University

where they were told that Kautilya’s IQ level was above the normal children of his age. His two elders sisters also have excellent memory power and fluency in speaking, said Sharma.

Sharma said that Kautilya, who studies in Bhawan Vidyalaya, Punchkula, is excellent in studies. He is good in all subjects including mathematics, science. He knows the verses of Srimadbhagwat Geeta and other religious texts. Kautilya was also invited as a celebrity to ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ show hosted by Amitabh Bachchan in 2013.
