VARANASI: Prime Minister
Narendra Modi surprised the people of Kashi for one more time within a gap of around two and half months by visiting Varanasi Junction and Khidkiya Ghat and meeting people on Friday night.
Modi started his night out after 10 pm when he initially reached Varanasi Junction, commonly known as Cantt railway station. On seeing his fleet entering the circulating area of the railway station, people present in several hundred meters on Station Road started running towards him while chanting, ‘Har Har Mahadev’. After viewing the station, he reached the Kashi Lounge and also talked about its function with its staff. Later, he also moved on the platform, which was crowded with passengers waiting for their trains. This crowd also turned crazy on finding moving between them. They not only started chanting ‘Modi-Modi’ but also competing for taking photos and shooting video of him.
From the railway station, Modi reached Khidkiya Ghat to see the construction of a giant platform, CNG filling station for boats and other facilities. Modis night-out had started following his road show, offering of prayer at Kashi Vishwanath temple, enjoying tea at a kiosk in Assi and Banarasi Paan at garlanding the state of Pt Madan Mohan Malviya at Lanka. On December 14, Modi had also visited Godowlia crossing during his stay in the city following the opening of Kashi Vishwanath Dham and met people.
