Girls ahead of boys with 78.50% pass percentage in Varanasi dist
Varanasi: Palak Mishra, a student of Aryan International School of the city, secured first position in the district and third in the state with 496 marks out of 500 in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class XII examinations, the results of which were declared on Thursday.
Priyankush Adhibary (495) of Sunbeam School Varuna secured second position.

Palak and Priyankush also got third and fourth positions, respectively in Allahabad region of CBSE.
Radhika Bajaj of Sunbeam Suncity, Jagriti Athwani of the Aryan International School and Sonia Jauhari of Delhi Public School Vishokhar secured third position with 492 marks followed by Ritwij Kumar Gaur (491) of Aryan International School, Ayushi Gupta (490) of Sunbeam School Varuna, Rohit Raj (490), Jwala Pratap Singh (489), Megha Singhania (489) and Nidhi Singh (489), all from Aryan International School.
The results of CBSE class XII were declared on Thursday. The girls outnumbered the boys with pass percentage of 78.50% while boys stood at 68.12% in the district.
According to statistics, a total of 17,479 students from 84 schools appeared for the CBSE class XII examination in the district. The overall pass percentage in the district is 71.96%.
