FTC to begin hearing in VVSS plea on July 8

Varanasi: The fast-track court (FTC) of civil judge (senior division) Mahendra Kumar Pandey here on Monday fixed July 8 as the next date for beginning hearing in the Vishwa Vedic Sanatan Sangh (VVSS) petition seeking ban on entry of Muslims in Gyanvapi compound.
“The FTC also issued an order to provide the copy of the petition to the advocates of the mosque management committee, Anjuman Intejamia Masajid, for filing their reply and objections,” AIM advocate Akhlaqe Ahmed told TOI.
VVSS chief Jitendra Singh Visen had filed a petition before the court of civil judge (senior division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar on May 24, seeking ban on entry of Muslims in Gyanvapi premises, handing over the premises to the Hindus and permitting regular ‘puja-archana’ (worshipping) of Lord Aadi Visheshwar.
On May 25, district judge Ajay Krishna Vishvesha had transferred this case from the court of civil judge (senior division) to FTC.
VVSS, which is backing the five women plaintiffs in the petition (no. 693/2021) seeking permission for daily worship and performing rituals at Shringar Gauri, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman and Nandi in the Gyanvapi premises, has made Visen’s wife Kiran Singh the main plaintiff in this petition.
