Cricket contest held in district jail

VARANASI: Tough contest between the teams of different barracks of district jail marked the beginning of Jail Premiere League on jail campus on Saturday.
Chief judicial magistrate Ramkesh Singh inaugurated the JPL and praised the efforts of jail authorities for holding the event. He said such events would help in keeping the prisoners fit and linked to the mainstream of society.
Jail officials said apart from cricket, a volleyball tournament for the teams of different barracks would also be organised very soon.
